Here is how we got to New York City (you will see Max's version and mine)
Max: First we had to drive real far
Mom: We drove from our home to the Metro
Max: Then we had to walk on a bridge to the metro
Mom: We walked to the Metro
Max: Then we took the Metro to Washington, DC
Mom: Yup
Max: Then we had to take a bus a LONG way to New York and I got to sit in the front!
Mom: It was actually a very fast, comfortable bus trip for $20 each way! And we watched Annie on our friend's Ipod!

Max: Then we got on the Subway in New York!
Mom: Yup!
The first thing we did in New York City was go to the Zoon in Central Park.
The Zoo was a lot of fun...
When we got hungry, we ate hotdogs from street vendors, and yummmm - were they GOOD!
Max made a friend and spent about an hour climbing up, down and all over the rocks.
That evening we went to Times Square and enjoyed the lights, people, and everything else. We stayed in a hotel on Broadway and 103rd - Max LOVED sleeping in a hotel. The next day we got up and took a Duckboat tour of Manhatten. It took us out onto the river - it was great fun - Max loved it! After the tour, we went to Toys-R-Us and we rode the huge Ferris Wheel inside the store. It was great! Around lunch time, Max told me all he wanted to eat was another one of those hotdogs from the street. He munched down that dog like he hadn't eaten in a year, then fell dead asleep.
After MY lunch, we did some shopping till it was time to catch the bus home. Max loved New York City. He got to be very adept at riding the Subway, at holding the door open for me and the stroller, and for helping me read the maps. He was was so cute!
The ride home wasn't as easy as the ride up. Max really wanted to sit in the VERY back of the bus - and ended up getting car sick. Fortunately we made great time, and we got to Silver Spring, MD in 4 hours. Since Max was feeling so sick, we got off there. He ended up throwing up in the McDonald's bathroom, eating a Happy Meal, and taking the Metro home.
All in all, it was a very good trip!

Sounds like a good trip. You're lucky to be able to do fun things like that.
Your hair in that turtle picture is adorable! That's awesome that you followed through on such a fun idea. I think I would have convinced myself that it was too much work, but you made it sound totally doable and enjoyable. You're a great Mom!
i love that you took him to NYC. i'm looking forward to doing that, too.
let me know if you want to run/walk at the lake--we could even go closer to your house if you want.
